Raffia Natural Hank 1kg

Our natural raffia is sustainably grown and harvested in Madagascar — long, strong strands that are a pleasure to work with, whether you're building the core of a basket or stitching the finishing rows.

Each 1kg hank contains a mix of long strands (approximately 1.2–1.5 metres) with some finer strand throughout — ideal for coiled basket weaving, wrapped handles, and decorative stitching. It pairs beautifully with our hand-dyed raffia for colour accents and stripe details.

How much do you need? A small coiled basket (approx. 20cm) typically uses 200–300g. A medium basket or tray uses 400–600g. For larger projects or workshops, we recommend grabbing 2 hanks.

As a natural fibre, colour, texture, and strand width will vary slightly between hanks — this is part of the beauty of working with an honest, natural material.
