Good Things Take Time: Why I Hand-Dye Raffia
Good things take time. At Raffia & Twine, I hand-dye raffia in small batches because I care about the colour, the fibre and how it feels to weave with it. This is handmade work, not mass production.
Hand-dyeing takes time and attention. Natural fibre has its own character, and each batch may vary slightly. I would rather take the time to make raffia I'm proud to share than rush the process just to keep every colour on the shelf.
That also means a colour you love won't always be in stock. I know waiting can be disappointing. When a batch sells out, I need time to make more, and I want to be honest about that instead of promising instant availability.
The time and care are part of the price. When you choose my hand-dyed raffia, you're supporting the work behind it as well as the things you'll make with it. Thank you for your patience, and for choosing handmade.
